Hi there!
This link above would lead you to the Pentagon Papers vs US case. The book unfortunately does not tell us extra about that case. In a previous chapter we read about the Watergate scandal and Nixon and  story behind it begun from Pentagon Papers or New York Times vs US; This info will make sense, when Nixon will be resigning and the reason why US started investigation on Nixon will reveal all secrecy.

In the last chapter we were introduced to Silicon Valley in 1951. I thought it would be helpful to know the history of the Valley. It begun with the fruit business and end up spreading the new invented semiconductors all over the States. In addition it mentions the father of the Silicon Valley. It was Frederick Terman, who inspired some of his students to change the system of just getting a job on creating a new job, where people wouldn't have a boss at all.The modern mind set of young entrepreneurs comes from his ideology and people still have it. Another thing was first electrical computer ENIAC, which was greatly build and helped to advertise California as the best place to go for the young generation.

The Children of Auschwitz

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/auschwitz-survivors/

The world war II is the bloodiest war in a human history. In the link above there are the short stories of people who have seen the war inside and out and probably much deeper than other nations. The Holocaust is the one part, that people will never forget and now society is just lucky to still have the rest of them as the survivors. Not many of them can share with their stories but there are some volunteers who are showing us that the human forgiveness exist and people may have better life after such experiences.

The Child Labor

http://www.historyplace.com/unitedstates/childlabor/

The Child Labor was one of the memorable things that i have read. In a previous chapter there is not enough of information to imagine it right. The link above leads to some photographs of Lewis Hine, who has the greatest pictures of child labor and they look like good art-portraits at the same time.
In my opinion the progressive era not only shows us how great is United States by having the plumbing and telegraphs but it also tells us how American artists tried to fight social problems by creating art. Really tells us about the progressiveness of that time.

Colombian Expo 1893 May 1

http://xroads.virginia.edu/~ma96/wce/history.html

I think this article tells more about the Expo and gives us an image of a clear modern industrialization in United States. We can notice the name as J.P. Morgan (Era of Giant Finance or U.S. Steel) being involved in organization of the event. The amount of people who came all over the world is spectacular approximately there were 30.000.000 people and 25 percent of U.S. people have seen the fair in person.

Midterm

Having all these battles behind from the chapters that we have read. I would like to see the questions as "Why young U.S. had the battles?" or "What did U.S. achieved after the them?". Also the test with the choices false and true would be more than ideal. Remembering all chapters the most memorable ones for me were about Civil War one, Reconstruction, Renaissance of U.S. In my opinion Essay never hurts especially after our last assignment (Federalist No 10), we could try to write again by choosing one of the highlights from history. All three topics that i have wrote above were interesting to know and in my head they have an important weight in U.S. History. The additional list of Presidents in order by year would be plus i think. For general education and overall background of them why they were chosen and what did they do to be elected and memorable.

As soon as i started reading the chapter 13 I realized what a big information this chapter have, literally there was a lot of stuff going on.Which made me look for the video that would help me don't miss the details. According to the chapter there is a war between Mexico and America for California and it was even before when people found the gold. Interestingly enough people were laid back at that time in CA because now young generation like me think that time came recently and California's social progress was not always there.

The Leader

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmyZMtPVodo

As i started learning more about U.S. History i have noticed how it is important to have a good Leader. But did America have the good one? We are reading a lot of biographies of people who came up with the great ideas. Did those ideas work for all people? I think this video explained the role of a Leader and how is the chosen one should think and act.

Federalist No 10 definition

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNN95-ICOMI

Hi everyone!
I found this video very helpful at least for me because English is not my first language and reading the chapters  even few times may not help, sometimes.
This video is about the Federalist No 10 and explains the power and a place of it in U.S. History. If you are a visual learner as me it will worth of your 8 minutes. James Madison may seem as a person who were dared to change the design of the Constitution and it will be partly true. The addition information will be in our U.S. history book :)
